George T. Burris, 83, residing in Vickery, passed away Thursday, April 18, 2019 at Stein Hospice Care Center after a lengthy illness.
George was born on March 5, 1936 in Prichard, WV to the late Allen and Ada (Hall) Burris.
George was employed at Ford Motor Company and worked at various area car dealerships in the auto body department and owned his own business as well. He enjoyed classic cars and going to car shows, where he had many friends. George enjoyed working on his cars, and won many awards for them over the years.
George is survived by his daughter, Lisa Twine of Jacksonville, NC; sons, Jeffrey (Cindy) McPeek of Stow, OH, George Chris and Danny Chris; special friend and companion, Kathy Davidson; sister, Katherine "Cat" Ash of Milan; grandchildren; great-grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
In addition to his parents, George is preceded in death by his son, Craig Burris; sisters, Merzie Canterbury, Gertrude Jenkins and Marlene Klein; brothers, Sanford, Gilbert "Hoot", Allen, Kenneth, and Sam Burris.
Friends may call on Friday, April 26, 2019 from 10:00 am until the time of memorial services at 12:00 pm at Groff Funeral Homes & Crematory, 1607 E Perkins Ave, Sandusky. Pastor Ryan Gilin of Mission Baptist Temple will officiate.
