Richard E. Westcott, 86, residing in Milan, passed away Wednesday evening, May 8, 2019 at Ohio Veteran's Home after a brief illness.
Richard was born on April 1, 1933 in Sandusky, OH to the late Paul and Mary (Harmon) Westcott.
Richard graduated from Milan High School in 1951. He was a Veteran of the Air Force who proudly served his country during the Korean War. He began his career as a parts manager for Mead Motor Sales in Norwalk, where he eventually retired from as president of the company after 40 years of service. He was a long time member of the Milan Evangelical Friends Church and the Sandusky Church of the Nazarene. Richard also taught Sunday school for over 50 years. He enjoyed building models, HO Train modeling, woodworking, and reading. His greatest joy was spending time with his family and friends.
He never wavered in his faith of Jesus Christ, and was always in the Word studying and memorizing.
Richard is survived by his children, Kerry (Lisa) Westcott of Berlin Heights, Lori (Scott) Nutter of Norwalk, Karen (Al) Koch of Milan and Rick (Laurie) Westcott of Berlin Heights; grandchildren, Allison (Brandon) Ralston, Ryan (Sherri) Nutter, Lindsay Westcott, Kevin (Christie) Nutter, Lorin Koch, Tyler (Elyse) Koch and Noah (Lauren) Koch; great-grandchildren, Macie, Max, Miles, Eliza, Eva, Jolie, Scarlett and one on the way; sisters, Jeanne Jones, Pat Fair, Joyce Beese, Marianne Pedersen, Barb Kilfoyle, Sandra Short and Carole Missig; brothers, Jack, Mike, David and Bob Westcott; closest and oldest friend, Ray Bretz and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
In addition to his parents, Richard is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Eva (Pedersen) Westcott in 2011 and brother, Terry Westscott.
Friends may call on Tuesday, May 14, 2019 from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Groff Funeral Homes & Crematory Milan Chapel, 1 S. Main St., Milan. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, May 15, 2019 at 11:00 am at Berlin Heights Baptist Church 85 E. Main St., Berlin Heights. Pastor Shaun Cotterill will officiate. Burial will take place in Meadow Green Memorial Park, Huron.
