Elder Eddie V. Louis Jr., 72, residing in Sandusky, passed away Wednesday, May 8, 2019 at Firelands Regional Medical Center after a brief illness.
Eddie was born September 21, 1947 in Meridian, MS to the late Eddie V. and Anna Mae (Clark) Lewis Sr.
After graduating from Sandusky High School, he joined the United States Army, serving his country from September 18, 1967 to August 29, 1969. As a Veteran, Eddie was proud to have had the opportunity to serve his country.
In 1970, he married Gloria Jean Robinson and was a father to her three children. Eddie retired in 2006 from Delphi General Motors after 36 years of service as a machine operator.
Eddie never waived in his Faith in Jesus Christ and was assistant pastor at Exalted Word C.O.G.I.C. He so loved all of his family and enjoyed bowling, fishing, barbequing in the back yard, and his dogs and his cars.
He leaves to cherish in his memory his children, Darrell (Felicia) Charlton, Robin (Johnny) White both of Sandusky, Venus Robinson and Wilbert Robbie Robinson both of Toledo; grandchildren; great-grandchildren; sister, Rosemary Cole of Chicago, IL; brothers, Leo (Rose-Tut) Lewis and Lynn Lewis both of Sandusky; special friend and caregiver, Betty Haney; special friends, Herbert Rainey and Pastor Luther McGee and several nieces, nephews and other relatives.
In addition to his parents, Eddie is preceded in death by his wife, Gloria Jean; brother, Robert Lewis; three brothers in infancy and both maternal and paternal grandparents.
Friends may call on Saturday, May 18, 2019 from 10:00 am until the time of funeral services at 11:00 am at Ebenezer Baptist Church, 1215 Pierce St., Sandusky. Pastor Luther McGee of Exalted Word C.O.G.I.C. will officiate. Burial with military honors will follow in Oakland Cemetery, Sandusky.
