John "Jack" Carl Westcott

John "Jack" Carl Westcott, 80, White City, Oregon, formerly of Sandusky, entered glory Monday, June 3, 2019, at Providence Hospital, Medford, Oregon.

He was born October 31, 1938, in Sandusky, to Paul Carlton and Mary Louise (Harmon) Westcott.

John graduated from Milan High School in 1956. He entered the U.S. Air Force June 6, 1956. He spent 6 weeks at Lack Land AFB Texas in basic training, and then transferred to Lowery AFB Denver, Colorado for training as a nuclear weapons specialist. In October 1957 he returned home to Milan, Ohio for a 30 day leave at which time he married his high school sweetheart, Carol Kaiser. In November he reported to Deep Creek AFB, Spokane WA, his permanent base. He was "crew Chief" of a five man crew whose job it was to deliver atomic & nuclear weapons to the B52's at Fairchild AFB. John left the service in June 1960, returning home with his wife and three children where he began his farming career in Huron, Oh. In 1977 he began working at Industrial Nut Corp where he eventually retired in April of 2004.

John was a member of the FFA, OOEA, and an active member in his local union as well as a leader for 4H, The Buckeye Buckaroos. In 1978 John received his ministerial ordination from International Bible Institute and Seminary, from Plymouth, Fla. He loved being outdoors where you would often find him, on his tractor, in his garden, or barbecuing. His greatest joy in life other than preaching Christ's salvation message, was spending time with his family.

John is survived by his wife, Carol Jean (Kaiser) Westcott; four children: John (Wendy) Westcott (New London, OH), Deborah (Timothy) Peake, Prosperity, SC, Julia (Bruce) Phillips, Berlin Heights, OH, and Edythe Westcott, White City, OR. Jack has 10 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews; six sisters: Joanne Fair of Elyria, OH, Joyce Beese of Wilmington, NC, Marianne (Agner) Pedersen of Norwalk, OH, Barbara (John) Kilfoyle of Winston-Salem, NC, Sandra (John) Short of Charlotte, NC, Carole (Robert) Missig of Berlin Heights, OH; three Brothers: Paul (Judy) Westcott of Lancaster, PA, David (Barbara) Westcott of Modesto, CA, Robert (Kathy) Westcott of Modesto, CA; Sister-in-Law, Cathie Westcott of Norwalk, OH.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Richard Westcott and Terry Westcott; recently sister, Ruth Jones; Brother-in-Laws, Eugene Jones, Richard Fair, and Howard Beese; and sister-in-law, Eva (Pedersen) Westcott

Visitation will be held on Friday, June 14, 2019, from 5-7 P.M. at The Victory Temple Church, 1619 Strub Rd, Sandusky, OH. The Homecoming Service will begin at 11 A.M., Saturday, with the Rev D.L. Walters officiating. Final resting will be in Meadow Green Memorial Park, Huron.
