Augusta Glen "Gus" Conley

Augusta Glen "Gus" Conley, age 90, of Sandusky, went home to be with the Lord Jesus Christ, on Tuesday, June 18, 2019 at Stein Hospice in Sandusky, Ohio.

He was born on Dec. 2, 1928, in West Garrett Kentucky, a son of the late Watt and Grace "Mosley" Conley of Prestonsburg Kentucky.

He married Elizabeth J. "Goble" Conley in 1952, and she preceded him in death in 2002. Glen worked for Ford Motor Company in Sandusky for 30 plus years retiring in 1987. He was a devoted member of the Little Bethel Old Regular Baptist Church in Green Springs Ohio.

Glen proudly served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and was honorably discharged as a sergeant. In his free time, he loved to read his Bible, visit the sick, and be around God's children. He was a devoted husband and father and had a smile for everyone.

He is survived by his wife of 12 years, Rita Conley, three sons, Steve (Annette) Conley, Berlin Heights, Bill (Deb) Conley, Norwalk, and Chris (Nicole) Conley, Sandusky, one daughter, Tam Conley, Sandusky, one brother Elmer (Jean) Conley, one sister Glenda Petrovich; he was also blessed with numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his first wife Elizabeth J Conley, parents Watt and Grace Conley, brothers, Lloyd and Arvil Conley, and sisters, Flossie Hunt, Alma Burris, Ann Sparks, and Sylvia Cooley, one son, Jackie R. Conley, and daughter, Pamela J. Conley, step daughter Dee Dee England.

Friends may call from 6-9 PM Sunday, June 23, 2019 at Ransom Funeral & Cremation Service, 610 S. Washington St., Castalia, where services will be held on Monday, June 24, 2019 at 11 AM. The Old Regular Baptist ministers will be officiating. Burial will follow at Butternut Ridge Cemetery with military honors.
