Marianne Ruth Tullos, 78, of Saint Johns, Florida passed away Tuesday, June 18, 2019 at The Legacy at Saint Johns following a lengthy illness.
Marianne was born October 27, 1940 and was a graduate of St. Joseph Elementary School and Monroeville High School.
She received her nursing degree from St. Vincent's Hospital Nursing School in Toledo, Ohio. Early in her nursing career, Marianne served her country as a nurse in the U.S. Air Force, and she was also a member of the medical recovery team for a Gemini space launch in Cape Canaveral, Florida. For many years prior to her retirement, she was employed as a surgical nurse in the middle Tennessee area. She enjoyed sewing, landscaping, cats and sharing her opinion.
Marianne's greatest accomplishment in life was as a mother. Anyone who knew her strength, smarts and sass can appreciate this inheritance she passed to her children and grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband of 51 years, George B. Tullos; four daughters, Danielle (Chip) Carwell of Saint Johns, Florida, Simone (Logan) Meeks of Memphis, TN, Amanda Tullos of Jacksonville, FL, and Desiree (Tim) Nortz of Corvallis, OR; four grandchildren, Cullen and Bryan Carwell, Mays Meeks, and Elliot Nortz; three brothers, William (Felica) Stang, Norbert (Grace) Stang, and Ronald (Nika) Stang, all of Monroeville; nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Harlon and Ruth (Rossman) Stang; three brothers, Frederick, Kenneth, and Alan Stang; two sisters, Susan Johnson and Elizabeth Myers.
Private family visitation and services will be held in the Pfeil Funeral Home, Monroeville Chapel, 109 Monroe Street, Monroeville. Fr. Ronald A. Schock will officiate. Burial will be in the St. Joseph Cemetery, Monroeville.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Joseph School Endowment Fund, 79 Chapel Street, Monroeville, Ohio 44847 or to the Monroeville Public Library, 34 Monroe Street, Monroeville, Ohio 44847.
