Terry Lee Michaels, 66, residing in Sandusky, passed away late Saturday evening, June 22, 2019 at Firelands Regional Medical Center following a lengthy illness.
Terry was born on March 5, 1953 in Sandusky, OH to the late Jesse V. and Bernice Alice (Harvey) Michaels.
Terry graduated from Sandusky High School in 1971. He was a Veteran of the United States Army who proudly served our country during the Vietnam War with the 82nd Airborne. He was employed by Dutch Maid Logistics in Willard, OH. Terry was a member of Hope Lutheran Church in Fostoria, the America Legion Post 83 and the AMVETs Post 17. He enjoyed cooking, fishing, boating on Lake Erie, gardening, taking Sunday drives, grocery shopping, his service dogs and cats, playing euchre, singing and spending time with his family and friends.
Terry is survived by significant other, Pamela Fox of Sandusky; daughters, Erica (Matt) Young of Greensboro, NC, Heather (Paul Keck) Nelson of Chicago, IL, Amy Michaels of Queens, NY and Amanda (Scott) Herzog of Sandusky; sons, Scott Nelson of Mansfield, Phillip Michaels of Sandusky, Terry (Sherry) Fox II of Columbus and Brad (Tammy) Fox of Fremont; 8 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren on the way; sister, Laura Michaels of Port Clinton; brothers, Jim (Donna) Michaels of Monroeville and Keith Michaels of Edwardsville, IL; sister-in-law, Karen Michaels of Sandusky; his faithful service dog, Apollo and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
In addition to parents, Terry is preceded in death by his wife, Diana (Jolly) Michaels in 2009; brother, William Michaels and sister-in-law, JoAnne Michaels.
Friends may call on Thursday, June 27, 2019 from 11:00 am until the time of funeral services at 1:00 pm at Groff Funeral Homes & Crematory, 1607 E Perkins Ave, Sandusky. Terry's brothers, Pastor Jim and Keith Michaels will officiate services.
