Carol (Joerger) Peters, 75, of Huron, passed away on July 22, 2019 after an 18-year courageous battle with Alzheimer's. Although this terrible disease took her memories and independence, she still remembered to smile at all friendly faces. It also did not take away the unconditional love between her and her husband of 51 years, Stan.
She was born in Sandusky, the only child of Esther and Carl Joerger. Growing up, she enjoyed spending time with her cousins and friends.
She graduated from Sandusky High School and worked at Citizens Bank and New Departure before starting her own family. She was always at every one of her children's school and sporting events. She volunteered at the Sandusky Senior Center for many years. She enjoyed spending winters in Florida, going to Disney World, and watching Cleveland sports. She attended Emmanuel United Church of Christ in Sandusky.
She will be missed by her husband, Stan; son, James (Krista) Peters; daughter, Barbara (Thomas) Hendershot; grandchildren Samantha, Mike, and Jenna Peters and Andrew, Adam, and Ryan Hendershot, and close friend, Margaret Morris.
She was preceded in by her parents.
The family will host a celebration of Carol's life in September. Groff Funeral Homes & Crematory is assisting the family with arrangements.
