Richard E. Jackson, 62, Sandusky, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, July 31, 2019, surrounded by his loving family and caring staff at Firelands Regional Medical Center.
He was born in Sandusky on March 31, 1957 to the late Charlie James and Mattie J. Jackson Sr., and attended Perkins High School.
Richard also known as "Daddy Rich" and "Richard Boom", to his close friends, worked at Catawba Clean Scene, Mirror Images Detailing, Tin Goose Diner and Moni Ami Restaurant.
When Richard was in good health, he loved detailing cars, playing pool, watching sports, cooking on the grill, and spending time with family and friends, giving encouraging words.
Richard is survived by loving sons, Tavarous (Natasha) Turner, Dallas, TX and Derek J. Horne, Port Clinton, OH; daughter, Ya'Shica K. Brown, Sandusky; brothers, Andrew (Yvonnjanai) Frazier, Donnell Jackson, and Paul Allen Jackson all of Sandusky; sisters, Lena Mae Patrick, Montgomery, AL, Betty Jean (Harvey) Nicholson, and Mattie Pearl Jackson both of Sandusky, and Elizabeth Jackson, Columbus, OH; special sister-in-law, Doris J. Frazier; eight grandchildren, Desmond Lewis, Tavarous Turner Jr., Rashaun Turner, Shana Turner, Dil'Azia Brown, Jai'Shanti Hicks, Tatiana Horne, and Q'Marion Hunter; two great-grandchildren; host of nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, special friends, Jeff (Ann) Scott, Rich (Gene) Kokinda, John Moore, Melody Roy, Robert L. Williams, Sammy Caffey, Tony Jones, Wayne Jackson, Tyrone Fenderson, and many friends in Port Clinton.
He was preceded in death by his parents; grandparents; sisters, Shirley Ann Jackson and Pauline Jackson; brother, Charles James Jackson Jr.; niece, Doris Marie Frazier; and a nephew, Michael Sean Frazier.
Friends may call on Thursday, August 8, 2019, from 10 A.M. until time of funeral services at 12 P.M. Noon in Toft Funeral Home & Crematory, 2001 Columbus Ave., Sandusky. Rev. Joseph Strong will officiate. Burial will follow in Oakland Cemetery.
