Peggy S. (Limpus) Nolder, 87, residing in Sandusky, passed away early Monday morning, August 19, 2019 at Firelands Regional Medical Center after a lengthy illness.
Peggy was born on January 31, 1932 in Newbury, England to the late Thomas J. Limpus and Doris (Heath) Wieber.
Peggy grew up in England during WWII, before moving to Sandusky in 1950 to be with her mother and sister. She had been employed by the former Kresges Store and Barr Rubber Manufacturing before raising her family. Peggy was a member of Grace Episcopal Church, the VFW 2529 Women's Auxiliary, Sandusky Amvets Post 17, American Legion Post 83 and participated in sending out Christmas cards to the troops. She enjoyed ceramics, fishing, playing shuffleboard and winning the city's championship one year, reading, gardening and spending time with her family and friends.
Peggy is survived by her three sons, Brian (Denise) Nolder of Sandusky, John (Tracey) Nolder of Sandusky and Jeff (Megan) Nolder of Bucyrus; grandchildren, Brian, Brea, Kayla, John Thomas, J-Lyn and Jersey; seven great-grandchildren; brother, Leon (Mary Ellen) Wieber of Sandusky and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
In addition to her parents, Peggy is preceded in death by her husband, Thomas N. Nolder in 1991; two children in infancy; step-father, Leroy Wieber; sister, Eileen Atkinson; brother, David Limpus and step-brothers, Denny and Doug Wieber.
Friends may call on Wednesday, August 21, 2019 from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Groff Funeral Homes & Crematory, 1607 E Perkins Ave, Sandusky. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home on Thursday, August 22, 2019 at 10:00 am. Rev. Jan Smith Wood of Grace Episcopal Church will officiate. Entombment will follow in Meadow Green Memorial Park, Huron.
