Stella P. Gysan, 86, of Castalia, died Sat. night, Aug. 31. 2019, in Providence Care Center, Sandusky, following a lengthy illness.
She was born Dec. 11, 1932 in Wyandot Co., and was a 1950 graduate of Sandusky High School.
She was well known in the Castalia Area for her baked goods, especially her sticky buns.
She was a 60 year member of Zion Lutheran Church in Sandusky; a 4-H advisor for many years in Huron and Erie Counties; worked alongside her husband Bob on the family farm; and was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother.
Stella is survived by her daughter Phyllis Gysan of Castalia; 2 sons Wayne (Kim) Gysan and John Gysan of Castalia; 6 grandchildren Michelle (David), Robbie (Courtney), Nikki, Melanie, Chris, and Joe (Brittany); 2 great grandchildren David and Aaron; son-in-law Alvin Gast; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Robert F.H. Gysan in 1989; daughter Florence Gast in 2019; grandson Joshua Gast in infancy; and 2 brothers Edward Manhart and Harry Manhart, Jr.
Friends may call from 6-8 pm Weds., Sept. 4, 2019, at Ransom Funeral and Cremation Service, 610 S. Washington St., Castalia, and from 10 am Thurs., Sept. 5, until time of services at 11 am in Grace Lutheran Church, 203 S. Washington St., Castalia. The Rev. Kathleen Suggitt and Rev. Philip Gardner will officiate. Burial will be Castalia Cemetery.
