Leonard Nathaniel Harris, Jr.

Leonard Nathaniel Harris, Jr., 69, most affectionately known as "Al," of Sandusky, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, September 9, 2019 in Stein Hospice Care Center, Sandusky, following a brief illness.

Al was born on December 25, 1949 in Sandusky to the late Leonard and Ruby (Simmons) Harris.

He was a 1969 graduate of Sandusky High School and later attended Lorain County Community College. He served in the U.S. Army from 1969 to 1971 and retired from New Departure/Delphi after working for more than 30 years.
He loved spending time with his family, friends, and especially his grandchildren. He also loved watching football, basketball, and listening to jazz music.

Al is survived by his sons, Alonso (Deanna) Harris and Ivan Harris; granddaughter, Lyndia Harris; grandsons, Braylon and Jordan Harris; one great-granddaughter, Averie Hood; brother, Anthony (Karen) Harris; sister, Camille Swain; and many other loving relatives and friends.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Dwight Harris; nephew, Darrell Harris; grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Friends and family may call from 10 a.m. on Thursday, September 19 until funeral services at 12 p.m. in Toft Funeral Home & Crematory, 2001 Columbus Ave., Sandusky. Pastor Thomas E. Darden, Sr. will officiate. Burial will follow in Meadow Green Memorial Park, Huron.
