Donald W. Moltz, 90, of Castalia, died Monday, Sept. 16, 2019, in Stein Hospice Care Center, Sandusky, following a lengthy illness.
He was born May 22, 1929, in Sandusky, and was a 1947 graduate of Margaretta High School.
He was employed by Philco and retired from Ford Motor Company. He was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Sandusky. He was a great husband, father, and grandfather, and loved to do woodworking, spending time with his family, and traveling with his wife Betty.
Don is survived by his wife, the former Betty Mefferd, to whom he was married 70 years this past May 14th; 5 daughters Donna (Thomas) Otto of Monroeville, Diane (Barry) Peltier of Apple Valley, MN, Debora (Tony DeAmicis) Moltz, of Castalia, Denise (Tim) Grundler of Farmington, MN, and Dorene (Scott) Damschroder of Bowling Green, OH; 13 grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents Carl J. and Margaret K. (Zeller) Moltz and a brother Carl B. Moltz.
Friends may call from 4-8pm Wednesday, Sept. 18, 2019, at Ransom Funeral & Cremation Service, 610 S. Washington St., Castalia, and from 10 am until time of services at 11 am, Thursday, Sept. 19, 2019, at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 2211 Mills St., Sandusky. The Rev. William Schroeder will officiate and burial will be in Castalia Cemetery.
