David R. Jones, Jr.

David R. Jones, Jr., 71, of Sandusky, went home to be with the Lord Sunday, September 22, 2019 after a brief illness.

David, better known as "Hunsey," was born to David and Alice Jones.

He attended Sandusky High School and was employed by Sierra Lobo in Milan, OH and was a faithful member of Emmanuel Temple Church, where he served as a Deacon, Pastor's Aide, Member of the Brotherhood, and Usher.
He was a loving husband, father, brother, and friend. He loved his family, church, and helping those in need.

David leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife, Sharon; two daughters, Jasonna and Louann Light; grandson, De'Yon Swain (Mariah); grandchildren, Ja'Tyse Light, Jamarvian Reed, and Makiyah, De'Miyah, De'Yon Jr., Swain; step-children, James (Faye), Justin, Breah, Jon'Say, J'Siah, and James Hayes; sisters, Jessie Gordon, Johnnie Stovall, Nettie (Ron) Ellis, Demetriss Jones, Shirley Jones, and Dorothy (Butch) Jackson; brothers, Lemon (Carolyn) Jones, William (Becky) Jones, Anthony Jones, Sr., and Ray Grant; special brother-in-law, Robert (Vickie) Staten; special nephews, Vincent, Da'Shay, Cass, James Gordon, Jr., Simeron, Lenny, and Thomas, Jr.; special cousin, Melvin Pickens; and best friends, Lewis Page and Estel Amison.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Roosevelt Cole, Jr. and Jimmie Jones; sisters, Nancy Jones, Mary J. Wright, Ruth and Edna Jones, and Ruth Staten; nieces, Pamela Jones and Michelle Baines; nephew, Darius Reynolds; niece, Jimeka Jones; and cousins, Jimmy Pickens and Bill Pickens.

Friends may call from 10 a.m. on Saturday, September 28 until funeral services at 12 p.m. noon in Emmanuel Temple Church, 128 E. Adams St., Sandusky. Burial will follow in Oakland Cemetery, Sandusky. Toft Funeral Home & Crematory, 2001 Columbus Ave., Sandusky, is handling arrangements.
