Frank D. Casali

Frank D. Casali, 82, Sandusky, died Thursday, November 17, 2011, in Stein Hospice Care Center.

 

He was born on January 20, 1929, in Sandusky, and was a 1948 graduate of Sandusky High School. Frank was a U.S. Army veteran.

 

He was employed by Lyman Boat Works for 27 years, and retired from Cedar Point after 14 years.

 

Frank was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, former member of the American Legion Post 83, Sandusky, and the former I.A.B. Club.  He loved to fish, bowl, golf, and spend time with his family.

 

He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Joanne (Kelley) Casali, whom he married on June 9, 1956; son, Ronald F. (Corinne) Casali, Sandusky: daughters, Elaine (Lee) Jordan, Susan Casali, and Linda Staph, all of Sandusky; grandchildren, Kelly (Bobby) Majer, Brad Casali, Brian Jordan, Liz Casali, and Karley Staph; sister-in-law, Anita Kelly, Toledo, OH; brother-in-law, Harvey Dodge, Sandusky; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

 

He was preceded in death by his parents, Domenico “Dominic” and Domenica (Filanti) Casali; sisters, Jane Samaritoni, Inez Ceccoli, Anita Filipucci, Jean Dodge, and Mary Egger; brothers, Primo Casali, Leo Casali, and Mike Casali; and son-in-law, Patrick Staph.

 

Friends may call on Sunday, November 20, 2011, from 6-8 P.M. in Toft Funeral Home & Crematory, 2001 Columbus Ave., Sandusky.  Prayer services will be held Monday at 9:30 in the funeral home, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 A.M. in St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 429 Central Ave., Sandusky.  Rev. Jason Kahle will officiate.  Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery where the American Legion Post 83 honor guard will provide the military tribute.  Memorial contributions may be made to Stein Hospice Service, 1200 Sycamore Line, Sandusky, OH 44870, or to Sandusky Central Catholic Schools, 1603 W.
