Donald A. Alberts, Jr.

Donald A. Alberts, Jr., 67, of North Fairfield passed away unexpectedly Friday, October 11, 2019 in Nashville, TN.

He was born September 11, 1952 in Staten Island, NY to Donald A. and Shirley (Tripp) Alberts, Sr.

Don was a graduate of Northport High School in Northport Long Island, NY. He spent twelve years as a police officer for the Monroeville Police Department and retired as a Deputy Sheriff in 2009 from the Huron County Sheriff's Office.

Don was a proud Mason and a member and Past Master of the Roby Lodge No. 534, F.&A.M., 32nd Degree Mason, Scottish Rite, Valley of the Firelands, and was a Past District Deputy Grand Master of the 16th Masonic District, member and Past President of the Widows Sons, Chapter of Overseers Motorcycle Rider Association. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, traveling, and riding his motorcycles. Don was kind and lived life on his own terms.

He is survived by one daughter, Trisha (Erik) Pearson of Setauket, NY; three grandchildren, Trevor Alberts Pearson, Paige Pearson, and Jake Pearson; one brother Keith Alberts of Cleveland; two sisters, Beverly (James) Krick of Norwalk, and Dawn Alberts of Cleveland; companion, Amy Szymkowiak of Toledo; one niece, Amanda Krick Westcott; three nephews, Chad and Andrew Duchette, and Stephen Krick; and several great nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one nephew
Scott A. Shuker.

Masonic Services will be held at 3:30 PM on Thursday, October 17, 2019 in the Pfeil Funeral Home, Monroeville Chapel, 109 Monroe Street, Monroeville with visitation following from 4:00 PM - 8:00 PM. A funeral mass will be held at 10:00 AM Friday, October 18, 2019 in St. Joseph Catholic Church, 66 Chapel Street, Monroeville. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Monroeville.
