Darlene Carol Simmons, 60, of 429 Jackson St., Sandusky, passed away on Monday morning October 21, 2019 in Concord Care Sandusky.
She was born on March 8, 1959 in Sandusky, the daughter of Thomas J., Sr. and Manday Sue (Smith) Simmons.
She was a 1979 graduate of Sandusky High School. Darlene retired from Alkon Corporation in Fremont, Ohio. She loved spending time with her family and cooking great meals. Planting flowers and shopping were also her passions.
Darlene is survived by her loving husband of 40 years, David Allen Brown, Sr., of Sandusky; children, Joseph (Chastity) Michael Simmons and Jackie Sue Simmons, both of Sandusky; siblings, Mary A. (Larry) Aaron, of Sandusky; Thomas J. (Evelia) Simmons, Jr., of Holly Springs, NC; Patricia P. Simmons, of Grand Rapids, OH; and Julie (Glenn) Simmons, of Gurnee IL; step-children, Teleasha Warren and David A. Brown, Jr., both of Sandusky; grandchildren, Andreia Warren, Quinshay Fisher, Alize Fisher, Darreion Brown, Davieon Brown, Alyssia Simmons, Javontae Simmons, Amina Simmons, and Ameera Simmons, all of Sandusky; two very special nieces, Vonda (Jason) Kubitz, of Sandusky, and Rachael (Korie) Simmons, of Columbus, OH; along with nephews and nieces, Aaron Simmons, Bradley Simmons, and Chelsea Simmons, all of Holly Springs, NC, and Taylor Simmons, of Gurnee, IL; great-niece, Peyton Jordan, of Sandusky; and great-nephew, Jace Kubitz, of Sandusky.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas J. Simmons, Sr. and Manday S. Simmons; sister, Jackie Simmons; mother-in-law, Alline Brown; grandparents, Harrison Lester and Mandy Susie Brown Smith, Hattie Mae Simmons and Esau Simmons.
Friends may call from 10 a.m. on Friday, October 25, 2019 until funeral services begin at 12 p.m. in Porters Memorial CME Church, 1722 Third St., Sandusky. Burial will follow in Oakland Cemetery.
