Milton Edward Poths, 88, residing in Sandusky, passed away surrounded by his family Sunday morning, October 27, 2019 at Stein Hospice Care Center following a lengthy illness.
Milton was born on August 28, 1931 in Sandusky, OH to the late Wilbert and Esther (Balduff) Poths.
Milton retired from Morgan Adhesives Company (I.C.T.) in Sandusky as plant manager in 1997 after many years of service. He was a Veteran of the US Marine Corp and Air Force. He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church and the Huron Yacht Club. He enjoyed ice fishing, his camper trailer, traveling with his grandson, gardening, working in the yard at home, traveling with his wife to see his grandchildren in Virginia and Columbus and spending time with his family.
Milton is survived by his sons, Jeffrey M. Poths of Sandusky and Gary A. (Shawn) Poths of Yorktown, VA; daughter, Susan (William) Appell of Powell; 9 grandchildren, Jeff, Sarah, Shelly, Natalie (Andrew), Wesley, Alex, Renae (Christian), Evan and Michael; 9 great-grandchildren; sister, Shirley Poths of Sandusky and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
In addition to his parents, Milton is preceded in death by his wife, Norma Jean (Lorenz) Poths in 2014; sisters, Ruth Hemmer, Barb Lijie; Erma Poths in infancy and brothers, Mervin and John Poths.
Friends may call on Thursday, October 31, 2019 from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Groff Funeral Homes & Crematory, 1607 E Perkins Ave, Sandusky. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home on Friday, November 1, 2019 at 11:00 am. Pastor Philip Gardner will officiate. Burial will follow in Oakland Cemetery, Sandusky.
