Betty J. (Moore) McKind, 80, formerly of Sandusky and residing in Canal Winchester, passed away Saturday evening, October 26, 2019 at Mount Carmel East Hospital.
Betty was born on November 10, 1938 in Van Buren, AR to the late Johnnie and Evelyn (Webster) Moore.
Betty was a licensed cosmetologist, had been employed with the Erie County Board of Elections and retired from Ford Motor Company after many years of service. She was a longtime member of Ebenezer Baptist Church and the NAACP. She enjoyed socializing, loved a good party, reading, watching sports, especially baseball, traveling and spending time her family and friends.
Betty is survived by her daughter, Kim McKind of Columbus; son, William McKind Sr. of Columbus; grandchildren, Jaymz, William Jr., Amber, Jonah and Kevyn; 5 great-grandchildren; sister, Phyllis Moore of AL; brother, David Leroy Moore of Sandusky and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
In addition to her parents, Betty is preceded in death by her daughter, Vikki McKind; sisters, Harriet Thomas, Vivian Smith and Janie Haskins; brothers, Frederick, James and Thomas Moore and 2 brothers in infancy, Ronnie and Johnnie Moore.
Friends may call on Friday, November 1, 2019 from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm at Groff Funeral Homes & Crematory Huron Chapel, 2602 Bogart Rd., Huron. Burial will be held in Meadow Green Memorial Park, Huron.
