Jack Criswell

Jack Criswell, 85, of Sandusky, peacefully passed away Saturday afternoon, November 2, 2019 in his home, surrounded by his family.

He was born on April 29, 1934 in Portsmouth, OH to the late Edward Paul Criswell and the late Ollie May (Jackson) Criswell.

Jack was a proud United States Marine, serving during the Korean War. He worked for 8 1/2 years at Whirlpool Corp. and for 30 years at Norfolk Southern.

He was a former member of the Reorganized Church of JCLDS, and a current member of the American Legion Post 83. He loved fishing, hunting, gardening, and simply being outdoors. He most loved being with his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Jack is survived by his daughter, Jackie Smith; sons, William (Diane) Kleinfelter, Mike Kleinfelter, and Charles Criswell; grandchildren, Amber (Jason), Brianna (Kevin), Jacob, Zack, and Zoey; great-grandchildren, who he affectionately called, "Jak, Noley Bear, and A.J. Pickles"; sister, Delores Wadsworth; brother-in-law, Tom Meisler; and other relatives and friends.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 48 years, Corrine Criswell; son, Robert Criswell; siblings, Harold Criswell, Anna Mae Wadsworth, Wanda Criswell, Colleen Meisler, Bruce Criswell, Marilyn Billman, and Pamela Callihan; and son-in-law, Jeffrey Smith.

A brief graveside service will take place at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, November 9 in the mausoleum chapel of Meadow Green Memorial Park, Huron. Family and friends are welcome to celebrate Jack's life and share their memories at a gathering in the Event Room at Toft, 2001 Columbus Ave., Sandusky., immediately following the cemetery.
