Alice Mae Conant

Alice Mae Conant, 96, of Milan, passed away peacefully Saturday, November 30, 2019 at Stein Hospice Care Center surrounded by her loving family.

Alice was born on May 26, 1923 in Grand Rapids, Michigan to the late Willard and Velma (Hudson) Anderson.

Alice was a 1941 graduate of Lakewood High School. She was a member of Edison Memorial United Methodist Church and a 50 year member of the Milan Garden Club. Alice was also a garden club show judge in horticulture and artistic design for the State of Ohio.

She was very involved in activities that involved her children and grandchildren. In her spare time, she enjoyed golfing, reading, and traveling with her husband especially to United States National Parks. Alice and Bill were proud to consider themselves part of the greatest generation.

Alice is survived by her daughter, Leslie (Marnay Schrock) Conant of Norwalk; 3 grandchildren, Charles "Drew" (Ashlee) Conant of Monroeville, Matthew Thomas (Kristin Zander) Conant of Norwalk and Mary "Allie" (Zac) Perez of Norwalk; 5 great-grandchildren, Adrionna, Emmett, Kai, Sophie and Jaxson and daughter-in-law, Cathy Conant of Collins, OH.

In addition to her parents, Alice is preceded in death by her husband, Charles W. "Bill" Conant who passed away in 1997; son, Bill Conant who passed away in 2012 and brother, Jack Anderson.

Friends and family may visit on Sunday, December 8th, 2019 at 1 pm until the time of memorial service at 2 pm at Edison Memorial United Methodist Church, 10 E. Church Street, Milan, OH 44846. Rev. Barbara Stephens-Rich will be presiding. Groff Funeral Homes & Crematory is assisting the family with arrangements. Private burial will follow at a later date in Milan Cemetery.
