Josephine "Josie" Wobser
The world lost a devoted and loving parent, wife and dedicated educator, Josephine Wobser passed away surrounded by her loving family, Wednesday, December 4, 2019 at University Hospitals in Cleveland.
Josephine was born May 23, 1956 in Passaic, NJ to the late Dominick and Marie (Farinella) Dolce.
After moving to Sandusky with her parents, Josephine graduated from Bowling Green State University with a BS in Elementary Education and received her Master in Special Education. Josie, as she was called, had a passion for teaching. She continued her career as a substitute teacher after her retirement from Cleveland Metropolitan Schools in 2016. Additionally, she was a fierce and dynamic advocate for the special needs community and was a provider for the Ohio Department of Developmental Disabilities. She taught until the day she became ill. Josie will be sadly missed, but always remembered. She was a member of Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church.
Josie is survived by her loving husband of 44 years, Michael Wobser. She is also survived by her daughter, Jacqueline Wobser of Sandusky; two sons, Anthony (Elvira) Wobser of Sandusky and Dominick (Emily) Wobser of Avon Lake, OH; she was also a proud grandmother to her first grandchild, Nico; sisters, Diana McNulty and Marian Dolce both of Sandusky; brothers, Alfred Dolce of FL and Marc Dolce of Norwalk and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Friends may call on Sunday, December 8, 2019 from 4:00pm to 7:00pm at Groff Funeral Homes & Crematory, 1607 E. Perkins Ave., Sandusky. Prayers will be recited in the funeral home on Monday, December 9, 2019 at 9:30 am followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00am at Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church, 510 Columbus Ave., Sandusky. Father Chris Jesudhason will officiate. Entombment will follow in Meadow Green Memorial Park, Huron.
