Jacqueline T. (Mochon) Croteau, 91, of Sandusky, passed away Tuesday morning, December 24, 2019 at Allay Senior Care of Meyers Lake in Canton, OH.
Jacqueline was born on May 27, 1928 in Bridgeport, CT to the late Emile J. and Rose (Gliesman) Mochon.
Jacqueline graduated from Sandusky High School and had been a bookkeeper at Sears for six years. Jacqueline was the "towel lady" at the downtown farmer's market raising money to be given to local charities in her granddaughter, Kristen's name. She was a member of Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church and had volunteered at the former Providence Hospital and the Erie County Care Facility. After moving to Massillon with her daughter, Shirley, she became a proud member of the Massillon Eagles.
Jacqueline is survived by her daughters, Shirley (Bruce) Walker of Massillon and Carol Croteau of Bristol, CT; sons, William A. (Sandy) Croteau, Jr. of Humansville, MO and Bruce (Sharon) Croteau of Sandusky; nine grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
In addition to her parents, Jacqueline is preceded in death by her husband of 71 years, William A. Croteau Sr. on May 5, 2018; granddaughter, Kristen Walker; four sisters, and two brothers.
Friends may call on Monday, December 30, 2019 from 9:00 am until the time of Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am at Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church, 510 Columbus Ave., Sandusky. Father Jeff Walker will officiate. Burial will follow in Meadow Green Memorial Park, Huron. Groff Funeral Homes & Crematory is assisting the family with arrangements.
