James B. Shrewsbury age 78 of Norwalk passed away Monday, Nov. 28, 2011 at Firelands Regional Medical Center, Sandusky. He was born Feb. 9, 1933 in Bedford, VA the son of the late Roy D. & Eona (Brown) Shrewsbury.
James retired in 1991 from Norfolk Southern Railroad where he was employed in the car department. He served his country as member of the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. He was vice president of the Long, South Carolina homeowners association. He enjoyed golfing, playing cards, and spending time with his grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife, Anita Jo (Helms) Shrewsbury, whom he married June 18, 1955 in Chester, South Carolina. One son; Gary (LouAnne) Shrewsbury of Woodville; Two daughters, Teresa (Robert “Dan”) Carbary of Norwalk, Kim (Richard) Daniel of Sycamore; 8 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, a son, James Steven Shrewsbury; and two brothers, Jack and Felix Shrewsbury.
Friends will be received on Thursday, December 1, 2011 from 2-5 p.m. and Friday, December 2 from 5-8 p.m. at Foos and Foos Funeral Service, 151 Yorkshire Place, Bellevue, Ohio where a funeral service will be held on Saturday at 11:00 am. Burial will follow at Bellevue Cemetery.
