Dave L. Marcus, 78, residing in Sandusky, passed away Wednesday evening, January 15, 2020 at Firelands Regional Medical Center following a brief illness.
Dave was born on November 27, 1941 in Sandusky, OH to the late George and Marian (Leder) Marcus.
Dave was a 1960 graduate of Sandusky High School. He was a member of Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church. Dave enjoyed working in the yard, doing home projects, playing the trumpet with the 4 Sharpes and many dance bands in Cleveland. He also enjoyed keeping in touch with his cardio-rehab buddies. His greatest joy in life was spending time with his family and pets, and never missing daily phone calls with his sons. His positive attitude, sense of humor and positive outlook will be missed by all who loved him. Dave's kind heart helped many people in need.
Dave is survived by his high school sweetheart and wife of 57 years, Diane (Muratori) Marcus, whom he married on August 11, 1962. He is also survived by his sons, Dave (Cheri) of North Royalton, OH and Dan (Kristi) of Mt Pleasant, SC; grandchildren, Cameron, Nathan and Mallory of North Royalton; brother, Chris of Roseville, MI; favorite sister-in-law, Shirley (Jim) Tabellion of Milan and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
Friends may call on Tuesday, January 21, 2020 from 9:00 am until the time of the Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am at Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church, 510 Columbus Ave., Sandusky. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, Sandusky. Groff Funeral Homes & Crematory is assisting the family with arrangements.
