Roy Smith, 73, of Sandusky, went to be with the Lord on Saturday evening, January 18, 2020 in Firelands Regional Medical Center.
He was born on January 12, 1947 in Waynesboro, Miss.
He was a loving father and grandfather known for his barbeque and fish frying skills. He was employed at Oglesby Construction, Inc., where he retired.
Here to celebrate his life are his family: Kimberly Jeter Smith, CaSuandra (Jeter) Jasper; Rodgess Jeter, Danielle Jeter, Daniel Jeter, and Robert Jordan; siblings, Diane Walker, EddieMae Friend, Virginia Ann Thigpen, Ruby Smith, Jessie Smith, John, Albert Smith, Robert Howard, and Nettie Howard, all of Waynesboro, Miss.; grandchildren, Trinidy Jeter, TyRuss Jeter, Ricky Reed, Jr., Ravon Jeter, LaTeashia Russell, Taja Gamblin, Sharda Reynolds, Rodshana Ulery, Jamiea Reynolds, Jewett A. Richardson, Jewett Richardson, Jr., Ideala Cole, Rodgess Rider, Brianna Jeter, and D'Nysia Bell; 20 great-grandchildren; special cousin, Johnnie Pearl Stovall; nine nephews; five nieces; and a host of other loved ones and friends.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Edna Marie "Honey" Smith; and parents; O.Z. Smith and Ginnie V. Howard.
Friends may call from 10 a.m. on Monday, January 27 until funeral services begin at 12 p.m. at New Jerusalem Baptist Church, 1920 Eddy Henry Way, Sandusky. Rev. Curtis L. Johnson, Jr. will officiate. Burial will follow in Oakland Cemetery.
