Francis Michael "Mickey" Fitzpatrick 78, Sandusky, was called home Wednesday, January 29, 2020, at his residence.
He was born on November 16, 1941 to the late Elder Ben F. and Mary Frances (Woods) Fitzpatrick in Elyria, OH.
Francis was the youngest child in his family of twelve, where he spent his early childhood in Elyria until his parents moved to Sandusky, where his father, the late Elder Ben opened The Assembly of Jesus Christ Church, which stands to this day. He graduated from Sandusky High School in 1958.
After graduating he enlisted in the U.S. Air Force, serving 23 years, retiring with the rank of Master Sergeant. Upon retiring, he continued his education as a civilian and was awarded many certificates, plaques, and recognitions, among those was a Bachelor's degree in Professional Aeronautics, from Embry Riddle Aeronautical University, Daytona Beach, FL.
Leaving to cherish his love and fond memories, his daughter, Lori Fitzpatrick, Omaha, Neb; son, Eric Fitzpatrick, Houston, TX; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; sisters, Joyce Bradford, Durham, N.C. and Janet (Johnnie) Cross, Sandusky; brothers, Albert E. (Duiren) Fitzpatrick, Akron, OH and Lewis (Mary) Fitzpatrick, Cleveland, OH.
He was preceded in death by his parents; six brothers and two sisters.
Friends may call on Friday, February 7, 2020, from 11 A.M. until time of funeral services at 12 P.M. Noon in Assembly of Jesus Christ Church, 3510 Beatty Ave., Sandusky. Burial will follow in Oakland Cemetery, with military honors.
