Ruth Virginia (Wiesler) Brandle

Ruth Virginia (Wiesler) Brandle, 98, of Huron, passed away early Friday morning, February 21, 2020 at The Commons of Providence.

Ruth was born on February 2, 1922 in Sandusky, OH to the late William and Ione (Faber) Wiesler.

In her younger years, Ruth and Gene spent much time sailing and racing the family's sailboat, Tag Too, on the waters of Sandusky Bay. She was active in all the social activities of the Sandusky Sailing Club.

In her later years, Ruth and Gene loved to travel, and took many long vacations throughout the country, as well as many cruises.

Ruth was an administrative assistant for the Hinde & Dauch Paper Company. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church. Ruth was a 40 year volunteer at Providence/Firelands Hospital. As part of the volunteer work, she lovingly crafted many of the small teddy bears given to patients, as well as many of the handmade items sold in the gift shop.

Ruth is survived by her two children, Bruce (Janice) Brandle of Rochester, MI and Becky (John) Zabrecky of Whiting, IN; two grandchildren, Michelle Brandle and Matthew Zabrecky and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.

In addition to her parents, Ruth is preceded in death by her husband, Gene L. Brandle in 2011; sister, Dorothy Straus and brothers, Robert and Paul Wiesler.

Friends may call on Monday, February 24, 2020 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Groff Funeral Homes & Crematory, 1607 E Perkins Ave, Sandusky. Prayers will be recited in the funeral home on Tuesday, February 25, 2020 at 9:30 am followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 429 Central Ave., Sandusky. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Sandusky.
