Esther F. Rhonehouse, 73, of Sandusky, passed away on Sunday evening, March 8, 2020 in Heritage Village, Clyde, OH after a lengthy illness.
She was born on September 25, 1946 in Sandusky to the late George L. and Hazel M. (Jones) Rhonehouse.
A graduate of Sandusky High School, Esther worked as a waitress her whole life, notably serving at Holmes Restaurant, Markley's Restaurant, and The Depot.
She loved to socialize. But most important was time spent with her loving family.
Esther is survived by her sons, James (Alice) Barber, of Norwalk, Kenneth (Linda) Barber, of Sandusky, and Teddy Knerr, of Sandusky; seven grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; brother, Len (Judy) Rhonehouse, of AZ; sister, Eileen "Lolly" White, of AZ; and many nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her grandson, Taylor Knerr; brothers, George, Moe (in infancy), and Max Rhonehouse; and sisters, Dorothy Whetstone and Mary "Tootie" Ewers.
Friends may call from 4 p.m. on Wednesday, March 11 until funeral services begin at 6 p.m. at Toft Funeral Home & Crematory, 2001 Columbus Ave., Sandusky. Chaplain Mel Sayler will officiate.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Esther's name to Stein Hospice, 1200 Sycamore Line, Sandusky, OH 44870.
