Mary Anne (Sitterly) Hinkle, 76, residing in Norwalk, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Sunday, March 8, 2020 at Gaymont Nursing Home.
Mary was born February 19, 1944 in Norwalk, OH to the late Clarence and Bernice (Wechter) Sitterly.
In 1962, Mary graduated from St. Paul School in Norwalk. After graduation, Mary began managing Lawsons in Norwalk, and then she started waiting tables for many years at the Brown Derby and Sawmill Creek, until she owned and operated Jake's Family Restaurant with her husband, Jacob in New London. In her spare time, Mary enjoyed spending time with her family and grandkids. She also enjoyed baking special treats, playing bingo, mushroom hunting, fishing, gardening, shopping with her sisters, solving puzzles and traveling.
Mary is survived by her two daughters, Debra Dwight of Bellevue and Eula (Ian) Brumfield of Milan; grandchildren, Melissa (Jim) Powers, Taylor (Zack Strunk) Clift, Jennifer Owens and Ian Brumfield Jr; great-grandchildren, Jaelynn Powers, Caiden Strunk and Emma Strunk; 14 brothers and sisters, Ruth (Frank) Fox, Helen (Larry) Mcguckin, Donna (Donnie) Meyers, Bob (Marybeth Dunham) Sitterly, Sharon Russell, Jim (Joan) Sitterly, Mike (Jill) Sitterly, Dennis (Marty) Sitterly, Tina (Rodney) Chandler, Donald (Rebecca) Sitterly, Thomas (LouAnne) Sitterly and Eugene (Mary) Sitterly and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
In addition to her parents, Mary is preceded in death by her husband, Jacob Hinkle, grandsons, Tyler Clift and Cameron Owens and sister, Francis Osborn.
At her request, cremation will take place. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Groff Funeral Homes & Crematory is assisting the family with arrangements.
