Betty K. (Fitch) Kinney, 79, residing in Sandusky, passed away Sunday afternoon, March 22, 2020 at Stein Hospice Care Center following a brief illness.
Betty was born on October 10, 1940 in Nolan, WV to the late Thomas and Maude (Blevins) Fitch.
Betty worked as an LPN at the Ohio Veterans Home before she retired from the Lutheran Memorial Home after 25 years of service. She was a member of Sandhill Baptist Church. In her spare time, she enjoyed gardening, flowers, socializing and spending time with her family and friends.
Betty is survived by her husband, Bernard Kinney, whom she married in April 5, 1958. She is also survived by her son, David J. Kinney of Castalia; sisters, Mabel Taylor, Ruth Sanders and Helen Dempsey; brothers, Tom Fitch Jr., and Donnie Fitch and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
In addition to her parents, Betty is preceded in death by her son, Timothy Kinney; sisters, Martha Stotridge and Catherine Hall and brothers, Rebern, Billie, Elmer Ray and Jerry Fitch.
A private family graveside service will be held on Wednesday at Sand Hill Cemetery, Castalia. Pastor Gary Sorrell of Sandhill Baptist Church will officiate. Groff Funeral Homes & Crematory is assisting the family with arrangements.
