John Albert Knupke, 78, residing in Sandusky, passed away unexpectedly early Sunday morning, March 22, 2020 at Firelands Regional Medical Center.
John was born on September 30, 1941 in Sandusky, OH to the late Luther Albert and Sara Jane (Fairfield) Knupke.
John graduated from Sandusky High School in 1959. He owned and operated Knupke Construction for over 50 years. He was a Veteran of the United States National Guard. John was a member of the American Legion Post 83, where he had been an active member. In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing, boating, camping and spending time with his family and friends.
John is survived by his daughter, Wendy Knupke of Sandusky; son, John L. Knupke of Sandusky; daughter-in-law, Tapatha Knupke of Sandusky; grandchildren, Gavin and Paige Knupke; sister, Lori (Gale) Gilbert of Berlin Heights; brother, Donald (Beverly) Knupke of Sandusky and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
Services will be held and conducted at a later date. Groff Funeral Homes & Crematory is assisting the family with arrangements.
