Linda L. (Whetstone) Pitsenbarger went to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday evening, March 26, 2020 after a lengthy illness.
Linda retired from cosmetology after 50 years in the business, 20 of those years were spent as co-owner of Hair UnLimited. Linda retired from Generations Hair Salon in 2018. Linda took her love of doing hair and her desire to help those suffering from cancer and created the Kevin Pitsenbarger Foundation which helped thousands of patients maintain dignity throughout their disease by providing hair pieces at no cost to those she helped.
Linda was a 25 year member of St. Stephen U.C.C., and a member of the American Legion Women's Auxiliary Post 83. Linda had been regularly attending The Chapel in Sandusky for the past 10 years.
Linda is survived by her loving husband of 51 years, Lloyd Pitsenbarger; her daughter Mary (Pitsenbarger) Mischler; son-in-law, Chris Romick; 5 grandchildren, Alec Romick, Erin (Mischler) Niday, Meg (Mischler) Ravis, Jordan Romick and Michael Mischler; 3 great-grandchildren, Korben, Luca, and Wesley; brother-in-law, Gary (Betty) Pitsenbarger and many loved nieces and nephews.
Linda was preceded in death by her 3 beautiful children, Kevin, Karey and Michelle Pitsenbarger; her mother, Dorothy (Rhonehouse) Minard; her father, Walter F. Rhonehouse, and 5 siblings, Florence Stierhoff, Walter Whetstone, Margaret Tippie, Dorothy Ebeling, and Marylynn Whetstone.
Linda lived her life with a desire to make others happy. She especially loved children and wanted to do all she could to bring joy to them. With that in mind the family is requesting, in lieu of flowers, memorials be made in Linda's name to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-9959 or the Shriners Hospital for Children, 2900 Rocky Point Dr., Tampa, FL 33607.
Services will be private. A celebration of life in Linda's honor will be scheduled at a later date. Groff Funeral Homes & Crematory is assisting the family with their arrangements.
Linda Pitsenbarger will be missed by so many.
