Charles Rance Williams, 71, residing in Sandusky, passed away unexpectedly Sunday morning, March 29, 2020 at Firelands Regional Medical Center.
Charles was born on October 2, 1948 in Inez, KY to the late Oliver and Estel (Endicott) Williams.
Charles had been a truck driver for the past 49 years, most recently with Jaro for the past 10 years. He also owned and operated the former Highway Auto Wrecking in Castalia. Charles was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church. In his spare time, he enjoyed golfing, going to casino's, traveling, spending time working on his semi and he loved spending time with his family, friends, and his dogs, Molly and Taz.
Charles is survived by his daughter, Michelle Williams of Sandusky; two sisters, Jewel Crouch of Waverly, OH and Linda (Greg) Dickman of Galion, OH; brother-in-law, Gilbert (Shelly) Yeckle and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Charles is preceded in death by his wife, Gail (Yeckle) in 2014; brothers, Junior, Harry and Wilburn Williams, and nephew, David Williams.
Friends may call on Thursday, April 2, 2020 from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Groff Funeral Homes & Crematory, 1607 E Perkins Ave, Sandusky. Due to COVID-19, we are asking attendees to keep their visit brief, as we will be limiting the number of individuals permitted in the funeral home at any given time. A private Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Mary's Catholic Church. Burial will follow in Castalia Cemetery, Castalia.
