Winifred Lucille (Gentry) Mautz, 90, of Sandusky, passed away on Sunday morning, April 19, 2020 in Stein Hospice Care Center after a brief illness.
She was born on December 5, 1929 in Sandusky to the late Clement H. Gentry and Celestine (Guenther) Gentry.
A 1948 graduate of Sandusky High School, Winifred worked as a switchboard operator at Firelands Hospital for more than 30 years.
She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Sandusky and was an honorary member of Mary Fellowship. She enjoyed hosting family meals and taking people out to eat. But most of all she loved time spent with the ones she loved, including her extended family.
Winifred is survived by her husband, Ralph Mautz, whom she married on July 22, 1950; daughters, Linda Huffman, Sally (Steve) Biggs, and Trudy (Robert) Galindo; son, Daniel (Terry) Mautz; nine grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; sister, Mary Ellen (Carl) Wilken; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Donald and Charles Gentry.
Cremation will take place in Toft Funeral Home & Crematory. A memorial service at Trinity United Methodist Church will be announced after COVID-19 restrictions are lifted.
