Maureen (McRobbie) Johnson, 73, residing in Castalia, passed away peacefully Monday morning, April 27, 2020 at Stein Hospice Care Center following a two year battle with cancer.
Maureen was born on March 6, 1947 in Fremont, OH to the late William and Naomi (King) McRobbie.
Maureen graduated from Sandusky High School in 1965. She was a long time shareholder of Sandusky Packaging, which her father was one of the founding members in 1965. Maureen resided in Sandusky all of her life until moving to Castalia in 1989. She enjoyed watching old black and white movies and Western's, NASCAR racing and traveling to many races in the Southeast. She enjoyed many years wintering in Winterhaven, FL and spending time with her family and friends, especially watching and attending her grandchildren's sporting events.
Maureen is survived by her husband of 53 years, Harold "Tut" Johnson, whom she married on April 23, 1966 at Holy Angels Church. She is also survived by her daughter, Jodi (Tracy Scott) Johnson of Sandusky; son, Randy Johnson of Sandusky; grandchildren, Kali, Alyssa and Ryan Johnson and Tristan and Trent Scott; brothers-in-law, Robert, Ken (Sandy), Eugene, Al (Karon) and Larry; special friend, Connie White of Sandusky and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
In addition to her parents, Maureen is preceded in death by her step-mother, Thelma McRobbie; maternal grandparents, Omar and loving grandmother, Hazel King, who lived to be 108 and her dear Aunt Evie; Uncle Ben Kocher and sister-in-law, Carole Johnson.
Private family services will be held and conducted at Groff Funeral Homes & Crematory, 1607 E Perkins Ave, Sandusky. Chaplain David Detwiler will officiate.
