Margaret D. (Galloway) Lieb, 92, residing in Sandusky, passed away Tuesday evening, April 28, 2020 at The Meadows at Osborn Park following a brief illness.
Margaret was born on June 27, 1927 in Sandusky, OH to the late Charles H. Galloway and Lena (Young) Sengstock.
Margaret was raised by her mother, Lena and step-father, Alton W. Sengstock Sr. She graduated from Margaretta High School in 1945. During school she worked two summers at Union Chain, following graduation she went to Periodical Publishers, and retired as a supervisor after 40 years of service. Then at age 60, she went to Trinity Lutheran Church, where she was a lifelong and active member, to be a secretary. Following her secretarial duties she went to Cedar Point and was a housing supervisor. Margaret was also a lifelong member of the Women's Auxiliary of the VFW 2529. In her spare time, she enjoyed reading, puzzles and spending time with her family and friends.
Margaret is survived by her daughter, Cindy Bolton of Fulda, MN; son, Gary (Bonnie) Lieb of Sandusky; grandchildren, Sarah Bolton of Fulda, MN, Mike Lieb, Mark Lieb and Lori Opfer all of Castalia; great-grandchildren, Jason and Sophia Pearson, Aleixis and Elijah McDonald all of Fulda, MN and Jessica and Jamie Opfer of Castalia; sisters, Alice (Don) Kuns and Dorothy Shirey both Castalia; sister-in-law, Lynnette Galloway of Dayton and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
In addition to her father and mother, Margaret is preceded in death by her husband, Alvin "Corky" H. Lieb in 1993; step-father, Alton "Bud"; sister, Joyce Cheek; brothers, Charles G. Galloway and Alton "Bud" Sengstock Jr. and son-in-law, William Bolton.
Private family services will be held and conducted at Groff Funeral Homes & Crematory, 1607 E Perkins Ave, Sandusky. Pastor Ralph Schibler will officiate. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Sandusky.
