Miriam R. Haynes

Miriam R. Haynes, 89, Sandusky, died Wednesday, May 13, 2020, in Stein Hospice Care Center.

She was born on January 6, 1931, in Cleveland, OH to the late Oliver and Jeanne (Reinheimer) Schlesselman, and graduated from Woodville High School.

She was employed by New Departure Hyatt, Periodical Publishing, and 23 years for the Ohio Bureau of Employment Services, as a Claims Adjuster.

Miriam was a former member of the Salem United Methodist Church, and now the Columbus Ave. Methodist Church, she loved knitting, gardening, was an avid Cleveland and Ohio State sports fan, loved attending her grandchildren's sporting events and spending time with all the family.

She is survived by daughters, Debra (Rick) Ridley, Oklahoma, and Patricia Haynes, Sandusky; son, John (Susie) Haynes, Castalia; grandchildren, Jason (Candy), Kelly (Jason), Allison (Adam), Timmy (Rachel), Rachael (Matt), Anna, Matthew, Andy, Josh (Shelby), Katie (Bryant) and Abby; twenty great-grandchildren; sisters, Carol Schnittker and Ardie (Harry) Enlow; brother, Hank (Sonya) Schlesselman; son-in-law, Rich Milner; and sister-in-law, June (Bill) Campbell.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William R. Haynes in 1991; parents; and a daughter, Julie J. Milner.

A graveside service will be held Monday, May 18, 2020, at 11 A.M. in Meadow Green Memorial Park, Huron. Rev. Erin Porter will officiate.
