Blanche Baum-Spurlock, 79, of Sandusky, entered into heaven on Friday, May 15, 2020 at home surrounded by loved ones following a brief illness.
She was born on March 11, 1941 in Sandusky to the late Stephen and Evalyn (Gubb) Shaszar.
Blanche enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and pets, reading, cross stitching, puzzles, Lifetime movies, seafood restaurants, and decorating for Christmas.
She worked as a homemaker most of her life. She selflessly sacrificed for her family, even though all too often it went unappreciated.
Blanche is survived by her three children, Kevin Baum, of Sandusky, Amanda VanBuskirk, of Lima, Ohio, and Sarah (Conrad) Bradley, of Sandusky; 10 grandchildren, Wayne, Kevin, Danielle, Isaiah, Emily, Kyle, Colin, Breanna, Mikaylah, and Anthony; 10 great-grandchildren; and a great-grand furbaby.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, Wayne Baum, in 1978, and Sherill Spurlock, in 2004; son, Wayne Baum II, in 2005; two grandchildren, Daniel Mack, in infancy, and Ashley Spurlock, in 2018; along with many other dear friends and family members.
Due to COVID-19 concerns, private family services were held at Oakland Cemetery with Rev. Harvey Studer officiating.
