Maureen "Reni" (Murphy) Bluhm, 61, Sandusky, passed away Friday, May 22, 2020, in Firelands Regional Medical Center, after a brief illness.
She was born on November 15, 1958 to the late Wallace B. and Mary "Rita" (Dugan) Murphy.
As a 1977 graduate of Sandusky High School, she continued her education at the Columbus College of Art and Design, to become a commercial artist. In addition to working as a freelance sign painter, she specialized in the art of carousels and amusement parks throughout her career. She worked as an artist for International Amusement and Atlantic West, as a curator at the Sandusky Merry-Go-Round Museum, and at Cedar Point, where her most recent project she enjoyed was painting the chariots on the Midway Carousel.
Maureen was a lover of nature, an avid gardener, and a longtime supporter of live music and music education in her community.
She is survived by her husband, Glenn Bluhm; son, Jaz Wallace Bluhm, Defiance, OH; sisters, Mickey (Glenn) Holzhauser, Sandusky and Nora (Mark) Kaufman, Castalia; and brother, Dan Murphy, Monroeville.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Maureen is to be cremated with a Celebration of her Life to take place at a future date when it is safer to gather together.
