Paula Platte

Paula Platte, 77, of Sandusky, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, June 4, 2020 at home, after a lifetime of loving and unwavering care from, first her mother, then her sister.

She was born on August 5, 1942 to the late Ellsworth and Bernice Platte.

She was a charter pupil of Betty Rinderle School, first held at Osborne School in the ‘50s. She was chosen as an Easter Seals poster child in her younger years and was also a member of the Cerebral Palsy Gang of Erie County for several years.

In her younger years she loved sweeping the driveway and sidewalks, playing ball, and meeting with relatives and friends. Most importantly, Paula had an infectious love for people and others were always drawn to her unbridled love and smile.

She was a member of Calvary Community Church and Grace Emmanuel Bible Church. Paula had a strong love for the Lord and regularly listened to bible hymns through her headphones.

Paula is survived by her sister, Charlene Hartman; and nieces, Andrea Hartman and April (John) Black.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother-in-law, James Hartman.

Private family services will take place, with burial in Meadow Green Memorial Park.

Memorial contributions may be made in Paula's name to Victory Kitchen or to Back to the Wild.

Toft Funeral Home & Crematory, 2001 Columbus Ave., Sandusky, is handling arrangements.
