Rod Dahlke, 65, residing in Sandusky, passed away late Thursday evening, June 4, 2020 at Stein Hospice Care Center following a brief illness.
Rod was born on July 17, 1954 in Sandusky, OH to the late Frank Edward and Joan Faith (Steffen) Dahlke.
Rod graduated from Perkins High School in 1972. Following his graduation, he was accepted into an apprenticeship through GM, where he continued to work until his retirement in 2006. Rod was a member of Zion Lutheran Church. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed all sports. "Pa" as he was lovingly called by his grandkids, loved watching their sporting events and spending time with his family.
Rod is survived by his wife, Tracie (Davis) Dahlke; daughter, Trisha (Steve) Hamm of Sandusky; son, Drew (Emily) Dahlke of Loveland, OH; 7 grandchildren, Kole, Chase, Ansley, Avery and Camden Dahlke and Aubrey and Haylee Yost; sisters, Sandy (Flint) Seth of FL and Darla (Mike) Latham of MO; brothers, Craig (Trenette) of FL, Scott (Dawn) of FL and Todd (Justine) Dahlke of TX; his golden retriever, Sherman; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
In addition to his parents, Rod is preceded in death by his first wife, Gayle (Lawrence) Dahlke in 2005.
Friends may call on Friday, June 12, 2020 from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Groff Funeral Homes & Crematory, 1607 E Perkins Ave, Sandusky. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home on Saturday, June 13, 2020 at 10:00 am. Rev. Dr. Eric L. Bodenstab will officiate. Burial will follow in Meadow Green Memorial Park, Huron.
