John William Sowders, 55, of Sandusky, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, June 13, 2020 in Firelands Regional Medical Center.
He was born in Fayetteville, NC on September 29, 1964 and graduated from Sandusky High School. He was a self-employed general contractor.
John loved drag racing and hard rock. He was a bit of a history buff, especially military history, having grown up a "military brat." Most important, however, was his family, especially his grandchildren. He will be deeply missed.
John is survived by his wife, Tania (Rosin) Sowders; parents, William and Patricia Sowders; children and grandchildren, Paige Sowders, Samuel; Ashley Ayers, Taylor, Chaz Jr., Carsen, Caisen; Sean (Leah) Sowders, Sean Jr., Adley; Tristin Pruitt; and Alexandria Carte; sisters, Lorri (Dean) Gholson, Patricia (Denny) Thomas, Anna (Mark) Monnes; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Friends may call from 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. on Saturday, June 20, 2020 at Toft Funeral Home & Crematory, 2001 Columbus Ave. Social distancing will be enforced, with limited attendance. A service will begin at 1 p.m. with Rev. Ken Hiser officiating.
In lieu of flowers, your donation of support to John's family is appreciated. Please send in care of the funeral home.
