John R. Clark, 84, residing in Sandusky, passed away Wednesday evening, June 17, 2020 at his home following a brief illness, surrounded by his famiy.
John was born on January 1, 1936 in Oak Hill, OH to the late Albert and Ethel (Howard) Clark.
John graduated from Oak Hill High School in 1953. After moving to Sandusky in 1968, he retired from Industrial Nut Corporation in 2001. John was a member of Sandusky Community Church of the Nazarene, and the Car Coddlers for many years. He loved his 1964 Ford Fairlane, the Cleveland Indians and Ohio State football. He enjoyed watching Westerns, listening to gospel music and spending time with his large family.
John survived by his six children, Debbie (Glen) Wade, Cindy Clark, Teresa Vladiff, Tami (Wade) Rapp, Johnnie (Sharon) Clark and Michael Clark; granddaughter, Amanda Clark and great- grandson, Noah who were special caregivers of dad; grandchildren, Michael (Amanda )Wade, Kevin (Nicole O'Dell) Wade, Stephanie (Mark) Hall, Eric Kirk, Jeremy (Anna Risner) Kirk, Steven (Michelle) Vladiff, Alisha McGlashan, Levi Vladiff, Kaleigh (Cody) Maynard, Brandi (Joseph) McLemore and Ali (Bryan Hudson) Clark; great-grandchildren, Danielle, Brayden, Jayson, Xavior, Kadance, Macie, Kyrsten, Hannah, Alex, Silas, Nora, John, Everett, Kaleb, Mallory, Lexie and Brooke; sisters, Donna (John) Barkhurst of Oak Hill, OH and Carolyn Dempsey of Oak Hill, OH; brother, Tom Clark of Waverly, OH and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
In addition to his parents, John is preceded in death by his wife, Mary (Simpson) Clark on April 11, 2019; great-grandson, Peyton Vladiff; brother, Bill Clark; sister-in-law, Helen Clark and one brother in infancy.
Friends may call on Saturday, June 20, 2020 from 10:00 am until time of services at 12:00 pm at Groff Funeral Homes & Crematory, 1607 E Perkins Ave, Sandusky. Pastor Ryan Brown of the Sandusky Community Church of the Nazarene will officiate. Entombment will follow in Meadow Green Memorial Park, Huron.
