Robert Edward Romell, 88, residing in Milan, Ohio passed away Saturday evening at home following a lengthy illness.
Bob was born October 29, 1931 in Milan, OH to the late Edward and Madeline (Smith) Romell.
Bob retired from Clevite in Milan after 42 years of service as a press operator, and had also worked for Milan Township and the Milan Cemetery for several years.
Bob was a member of the Edison Memorial United Methodist Church. Bob enjoyed playing dart ball, shuffle board, taking care of his yard, especially mowing the lawn and spending time with his family and friends.
He is survived by his wife, Lou (Jenkins) Romell whom he married on May 1, 1961; four daughters, Peggy Knupke of Florida, Madeline Keller of Milan, OH, Debbie (Jeff) Meinert of Norwalk, OH and Denise (Jeff) Showman of Huron, OH; three brothers, Dick (Marianne) Romell, Harold (Kathy) Romell and Tom (Patty) Romell; brother-in-law, Dick Boehler; sisters-in-law, Sue Case and Eleanor Jenkins; seven grandchildren, Angela (Eric) Szunyogh, Andrea (Donnie) Boaz, Jane Hahn, Cliff Hahn, Jeff (Chelsea) Meinert, Brad (Amanda) Meinert, and Destiny Showman; three great-grandkids, Derek, Hanna and Grayson and several nieces, nephews and other relatives.
In addition to his parents, Bob was preceded in death by son, Bobby Romell in 1983; three sisters, Catherine (Howard) Weilnau, Madeline (Dick) Gwirtz and Evelyn Boehler, and three brothers, John (Bobbie) Romell, Jim Romell and Don Romell.
Memorial services will be held at the Edison Memorial United Methodist Church and announced at a later date. Burial will take place in Milan Cemetery. The Groff Funeral Homes and Crematory, 1 South Main St., Milan, Ohio is assisting the family with arrangements.
