Vonnie J. Barnard, age 88, of Castalia, died Monday, December 19, 2011, in the Portland House in Sandusky.
She was born August 9, 1923, in Union County, TN, and attended Wayside Temple in Castalia.
She is survived by 5 daughters Bonnie (James) Steen of Akron, IN, Geneva (Dave) Biglin of Castalia, Tammy (John) Querin of Monroeville, Lillie "Jodi" DuBois of Bellevue, Martha (Armando) Garza of Elkhart, IN; 6 sons Robert (Edna) Barnard of Manchester, KY, Charles (Connie) Barnard of Manchester, KY, Leonard (Sue) Barnard of Castalia, Clarence (Jane) Barnard of Columbus, Raymond (Sheila) Barnard of Sandusky, and Marvin (Maria) Barnard of Clyde; many grandchildren and great grandchildren; 2 brothers David Brummette of TN, and Ben "Elmer" (Penny) Brummette of Castalia; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband Clarence Edward Barnard in 2006; parents William and Lillie (Thomas) Brummette; twin daughters Evelyn Sue and Betty Lou Barnard; 3 brothers Hugh, Bill, and Robert Jr. Brummette; and 2 sisters Beatrice Edwards and Magdalene Bray.
Friends may call from 10 - 11:00 AM Thursday, December 22, 2011, in Ransom Funeral Home, 610 S. Washington Street, Castalia where services will be at 11:00 AM with Pastor Shelby Gillam officiating. Burial will be in Sand Hill Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Wayside Temple, 3809 Maple Avenue, Castalia, or to Stein Hospice Services, 1200 Sycamore Line, Sandusky.
