Rose Marie Fritz

Rose Marie Fritz, 87, of Monroeville passed away peacefully, Sunday, July 19, 2020 in the Commons of Providence.

She was born June 11, 1933 to Walter and Ladonna (Rekart) Gies in Norwalk, Ohio.

Rose Marie was a 1951 graduate of St. Paul Catholic School and moved to Monroeville after her marriage to Richard. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Monroeville, where she was active in many activities held by the church. Before retirement, Rose Marie was employed at Huron County Job & Family Services, she had worked for the county in other capacities for 26 years. She volunteered as a Girl Scout Leader, enjoyed sewing, baking, watching movies, and obtained quite a collection of movies over the years.

Her most treasured moments were the times she spent with her family. She cherished her dog, Molly and enjoyed any animal that she encountered.

She is survived by one son, Richard "Rick" (Beth) Fritz of Monroeville; two daughters, Jeanne (John) Soisson of Norwalk and Debra (Daniel) Clapp of North Bend, WA; grandchildren, Kristen (Matt) Pentland, Leah Schaffer, Lauren Clapp, Brittany (Jared) Chandler, Bryan (Marissa) Fritz, step grandchildren, Lindsey (Dan) Esker, Daniel (Kaleen) Soisson; six great grandchildren; one sister, Ruth (Harley) Reed; one brother, Charles (Pat) Gies; sister-in-law, Virginia Bungard; nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard A. Fritz; her parents; son in law, David Schaffer; one sister and brother in law, Barb and Alfred Schafer; one sister, Irene as a young child; sister in law and brother in law, Marilyn and Ralph Pierce; brother in law, Homer Bungard.

Friends may call from 4-7:00 PM on Friday, July 24, 2020 in the Pfeil Funeral Home, Monroeville Chapel, 109 Monroe Street, Monroeville. Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 AM, Saturday July 25, 2020 in the St. Joseph Catholic Church, 66 Chapel Street, Monroeville. Fr. Ted Miller will officiate. Burial will be in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.
