Thomas A. Hartley, age 64, of Sandusky, died Wednesday, December 21, 2011, in Mercy St, Vincent Medical Center, Toledo, following a lengthy illness.
Tom is survived by his wife, the former Sandy Berkey, to whom he was married for 25 years this July; two daughters Jennifer McKay of Fort Wayne, IN, and Beth "Chuck" Tigges of Castalia; one son Keith "Jennifer Robbins" Hartley of Sandusky; 9 grandchildren Christina, Tyler, Mikayla, Katie, Mekay, Elena, Sam, Cooper, and Isabella; one sister Darlene Cookie Walker; 3 brothers Donald "Jerry" Hartley of Huron, Robert "Ronda" Hartley of Sandusky, and Ronald "Sheri" Hartley of Bellevue; sister-in-law Shirley Hartley of Norwalk; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents Charles and Virginia (Wadsworth) Hartley, and one brother Eldon Hartley. Friends may call from 11:00 am Monday, Dec. 26, 2011, until time of services at 12 Noon in the Ransom Funeral Home, 610 S. Washington St., Castalia, OH. Deacon Jeff Claar will officiate. Burial will be in Castalia Cemetery.
He was born July 26, 1947, in Sandusky, and was a 1966 graduate of Margaretta High School. He was employed by Sandusky Glass. He was a member of the American Legion Post 83, the Sandusky Amvets Post 17, and the Huron Eagles.
