Joseph John Woyma

Joseph John Woyma, Sr., 85, a resident of the Ohio Veterans Home, Sandusky and formerly of the Cleveland area, died Tuesday evening, December 20, 2011 at his residence.

He was born March 16, 1926 in Cleveland, OH., and was a U.S. Navy veteran of WW II, having served in the Philippine Islands. Joe was employed as a tool & die maker for the Mercury Machine Co., prior to his retirement. He was a person of deep faith in God, had a strong love for his family, was a talented craftsman, and loved to help those in need, especially during his past 12 years at the Ohio Veterans Home.

He is survived by one daughter: Kathalin (Ed) Jennings, one son: Geoffrey (Diana) Woyma, seven grandchildren: Dennis (Anne Marie) Woyma, Carrie (Beau) Sloan, Cynthia (Jon) Johnson, Kyle (Rachel Egenhoefer) Jennings, Lauren, Brandon, and Lindsay Woyma, seven great grandchildren, two former wives: Emily Woyma and Lois Shunk Woyma, and many dear nieces, nephews and friends.

He was preceded in death by one son: Joseph J. Wyma, one grandson: Scott Woyma, parents: John & Anna (Sabol) Woyma, Sr., and two brothers: Ernest Woyma and John Woyma, Jr.

Friends may call Tuesday, December 27, 2011, from 12:00 Noon until time of a Mass of Christian Burial at 1:00 PM in the Giffin Chapel of the Ohio Veterans Home, 3416 Columbus Avenue, Sandusky, Ohio 44870. Military Services will follow at 2:00 PM. Father Edward Czech and Chaplain Paul Birmingham will officiate. Burial will be in the Ohio Veterans Home Cemetery.
