Scott Jeffrey Giles, 43, Sandusky, was guided by angels as he went home to be with the Lord and his father late Wednesday evening, December 21, 2011, in Firelands Regional Medical Center, surrounded by his family, after a brief illness.
He was born on January 10, 1968 in Norwalk, OH, the son of the late William Henry Giles and Patricia (Latham) Giles Spayd.
Scott worked as a chef in the Daytona Beach, Florida area, and was a Fourth Degree member of the Knights of Columbus in Sebring, FL.
He is survived by his mother, Patricia Spayd, Sandusky; son, Jordyn Giles, Sandusky; daughter, Briana Nicole Horvath, Port St. Lucy, FL; sister, Cynthia (Jeffrey) Keller, Berlin Heights; brothers, William H. Giles, Huron, and Dennis K. Giles (John M. Snarski), Crystal Lake, IL; several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his father, William Henry Giles, in 1978, step-father, Richard Dean Spayd, in 1989; paternal grandparents, LeRoy and Elsie (Ruffing) Giles; and maternal grandparents, Howard and Elizabeth (Schiffel) Latham.
A funeral mass will be held on Saturday, January 14, 2012, at 10 A.M. in St. Mary's Catholic Church, 429 Central Ave., Sandusky. Rev. David Nuss will officiate. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Firelands Regional Medical Center Foundation, 1111 Hayes Ave., Sandusky, OH 44870.
